A car thief left a note with his name and phone number in a garage from where he stole a car. A Nicollet County Sheriff’s Deputy was on his way to check on an abandon car Sunday morning when he received a report of a stolen vehicle. According to the criminal complaint, the owner of the Ford Contour that was stolen from his garage showed the deputy a note that the thief left behind with a name and phone number. The deputy discovered the the person who left the note was also the person who abandon the car in Nicollet County, 23-year-old Michael David Anderson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Contour was located abandon in Brown County. A resident there reported the driver tried to steal a motorcycle. Anderson was found in Madelia and arrested. He was charged Monday with felony burglary and felony auto theft.
