Sleepy Eye house starts on fire after lightning strike 07 Sep 16

A rural Sleepy Eye home started on fire early Monday morning due to a lightning strike. Fire crews were called to the home of Steve Augustine on 290th Avenue around 7 a.m. Monday. The Sleepy Eye Fire Department arrived on the scene and had the fire under control within an hour. Damage to the roof and exterior was extensive. Augustine and his mother, who were living in the home, were referred to the American Red Cross for housing assistance.
