Corpse flower blooming at Gustavus Adolphus 03 Jun 16

The corpse flower at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, affectionately known as Perry, began to open up on Thursday afternoon. Visiting hours to view the blooming, smelly plant will be held today (Friday) from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and again Saturday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. There is no charge to visit the flower and experience its unique and revolting smell. The corpse flower is located in the third floor greenhouse of the College’s Nobel Hall of Science. Signs will be posted near the college’s entrances to direct visitors to appropriate parking areas. Perry came to the college as a seed in 1993. Since then the plant first bloomed in 2007 and has bloomed every 3 years since.
