Butterfield School District close to filing Super position 16 May 16

The Butterfield-Odin School Board conducted an interview Thursday and agreed to enter into contract negotiations wit h a Superintendent to fill the role that will be vacant July 1. After an hour-long meeting the board offered Jerry Reker the superintendent position. There were a total of 7 individuals who applied for the position including former superintendent Lisa Shellum. Five of the individuals were from out of state. Reker has over 40 years of experience as an educator. His most recent job was serving as a high school principal at Kasson-Mantorville Public Schools. He retired from the position in 2015 after serving the district for the past 17 years.
