Pretrial date set for New Ulm Police Chief’s assault charges 01 Sep 15

A Faribault County judge set a pretrial date for the alleged assault committed by New Ulm Police Chief Myron Wieland. The hearing held Monday did not require Wieland or his attorney to be present. Wieland was arrested last week after an incident took place at his home involving a woman who told authorities that Wieland threw her against a wall and on to a bed after putting his hands around her neck. Wieland was released from jail Friday after posting bail. He is currently on paid administrative leave from the New Ulm Police Department. His next scheduled court appearance in Faribault County Court is October 26th.
