Meetings generate ideas for New Ulm Parks 22 Sep 15

the Park and Recreation Commission held two public meetings Monday to establish a master plan for New Ulm’s park system. The purpose of the meetings was to seek public input on the Minnesota River Regional Parkway and New Ulm’s athletic fields. Park and Recreation Director Tom Schmitz says that from the public input a plan will be developed. From there the plans will be prioritized and the department will begin looking into funding. The River Region Parkway meeting took place Monday afternoon with athletic field meetings taking place Monday evening. The next public meetings on these plans will be scheduled in mid to late October when the ISG Consulting Group will begin back ideas based on Monday’s suggestions for further review. A third meeting will be held sometime in November.
