Winnebago residents seek options to creating school 23 Apr 15

With the closing of the elementary school in Winnebago, some residents are exploring the option of opening their own school. They are calling themselves the Winnebago Education Task Force and they have sent out a survey in an effort to find out if there is any interest from the surrounding community about forming a new school. Organizers say that no longer having an elementary school in town played a factor in this decision. A non-denominational Christian private school called Genesis Classical Academy approved the community recently, but depending on which direction the survey takes, it will still be wide open to what, if anything, will form. The task force would like all surveys returned by May 1.
