860 AM KNUJ/SAM 107-3 and your New Ulm Hy Vee announce this month’s hometown hero:   Bob Schabert of Courtland.     He served 24 years on the Courtland City Council with his last 10 years as Mayor and had perfect attendance.     Served as Region 9 Commissioner for Nicollet County small cities for 10 years.    Bob spent over 15 years as a member of  the Highway 14 Partnership.    He  served as chairman of the steering committee for Connecting Nicollet County Leadership Program.    He also has been involved with the Nicollet County Historical Society and Knights of Columbus in New Ulm.  His Christmas displays for others to enjoy in Courtland are legendary. Over 40 thousand lights with over 4 miles of extension cords.   This past year, he gave six of his bigger displays to a group in Sleepy Eye.  This month’s hometown hero:   Bob Schabert of Courtland.
