September Hometown Hero 20 Oct 14

860 AM KNUJ/SAM 107.3  and your New Ulm Hy-Vee announce this month’s Hometown Heroes: Tony Weber and Tom Matray, Jr of Gibbon.

One day in August, the two were getting done with work, when Matray heard Weber holler, “Smoke!” The Weber family called 911 as Tony and Tom ran to the Otto and Mary Hartmann home in Gibbon. They found a pickup on fire in the garage and started checking the home to see if the residents were present. During an extremely hot and smoky ordeal, they found the Hartmanns and helped them escape the fire through a window.

This month’s Hometown Heroes: Tony Weber and Tom Matray, Jr. will each receive dinner and show tickets for two to Chanhasessen Dinner Theaters and be recognized at a luncheon on October 20th. 860 KNUJ/SAM 107.3 and Hy-Vee would like to acknowledge those in your community, neighborhood, organization that give the most precious gift – time to worthwhile causes, helping those less fortunate, or rescuing efforts in an emergency situation.
