Plea deal in Security Hospital murder 13 Sep 14

The man accused of killing a patient at the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter back in January has entered a guilty plea as part of a plea deal.  Darnell Dee Whitefeather pleased guilty in Nicollet County Court to murder in the second degree without intent while committing a felony for the murder of Michael Douglas who was another patient at the Security Hospital.   Whitefeather also pleaded guilty to third-degree assault charges for punching another inmate.  Under the agreement, Whitefeather is expected to serve a sentence of 214 months,  which is about 18 years.  He is expected to be sentenced next month
