Twins Win Second Straight,Trade Willingham 12 Aug 14

Joe Mauer broke a 2-all tie with an RBI-single that ended up plating two runs as the Twins beat the Astros 4-2 in the first of three in Houston.  Danny Santana had three hits, while reliever Brian Duensing picked up the win.  Glen Perkins earned his 29th save for Minnesota, which has won two in-a-row after a four-game losing streak.

The Twins have traded outfielder Josh Willingham to the Royals in exchange for minor league right-hander Jason Adam.  Willingham is batting just .210 with 12 homers and is two seasons removed from bopping 35 home runs for the Twins in 2012.  Adam is 5-and-9 with a 4.67 ERA in 27 games including 18 starts this season in the minors.
