No cause in Franklin fire 21 Aug 14

The State Fire Marshal has completed its report on the cause of the fire that destroyed a Franklin home in December.  The fire marshal has listed the cause as undetermined.  The fire destroyed the home of William and Bethany McCorquodale.  After interviewing residents and firefighters, reviewing burn patterns and examination of the fire scene, the report says that the fire started in the southwest corner of an attached garage.  A floor-mounted wood burning stove and wall mounted heater were in the area and can not be ruled out as an accidental fire caused by either of the heating appliances.  There won’t be any further investigation and the case will be closed with an undetermined cause.  Everyone in the home was able to escape unhurt.
