Former MSU football player charged 28 Aug 14

A former MSU-Mankato football player faces attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and fleeing police charges after a shooting near the Renaissance Festival grounds over the weekend.  Dennis Carter told officers he had been selling marijuana in the Mankato area for almost a year for Diaa Ahmed Abdelhamin.  Carter allegedly said he owed Abdelhamin money and was afraid of him.  They had agreed to meet in Shakopee where they would find some money and guns.  Carter claims that Abdelhamin pulled a gun, there was a struggle and the gun went off accidentally.  Abdelhamin was shot in the neck and cheek and suffered extensive
