Waseca Man Facing Arson Charges 23 Jul 14

A Waseca man is facing a felony arson charge in Waseca County Court for allegedly setting his ex-girlfriend’s computer on fire. 36-year-old Michael Seys had reportedly been arguing with the woman at a hotel he was staying at in Waseca, but she left to avoid a confrontation. Seys contacted her the next day to pick up her things, and when she arrived he reportedly threw the burned remains of her computer’s hard drive at her and told her that he had burned it with lighter fluid in the hotel shower. He’s facing charges of felony third-degree arson, gross misdemeanor fourth-degree arson and gross misdemeanor third-degree criminal damage to property. He faces more than 6 years in prison.
