Twins Avoid Sweep 28 Jul 14

Sam Fuld ripped a two-run single in the seventh as the Twins downed the White Sox 4-3 to avoid a four-game sweep at Target Field.  Danny Santana also knocked in two for Minnesota, which won just its third game since the All-Star break.  Yohan Pino gave up two runs over six innings while Jared Burton got the win and Glen Perkins his 25th save.
The Twins open up a six-game road trip tomorrow night in Kansas City against the Royals.  The teams will play three games before Minnesota heads to Chicago for a weekend set with the White Sox.  Kyle Gibson gets the ball tomorrow for the Twins.  He is 8-and-8 with a 4.19 ERA.  KC will counter with right-hander James Shields, who is 9-and-5 with a 3.58 ERA.
