Officials are investigating a train derailment near Butterfield that happened Wednesday morning. Nine Union Pacific rail cars tipped over and spilled corn and damage the track. A Union Pacific spokesman said about 500 feet of track will need to be replaced and so far there is no timetable for when that will be completed or when the track will be reopened. The 110-car train left St. James heading for Arkansas and derailed around 5:30 Wednesday morning. The area where the derailment happened sees about two trains per day. No injuries were reported.
