State & Local Gas Prices Are Dropping 15 Jul 14

It’s the middle of the summer driving season, but large drops in the price of oil over the last 2 weeks have led to savings at the gas pump for Minnesota and the nation. Retail gasoline prices in Minnesota have dropped by more than 3-cents over the past week, and are now more than 5-cents lower than they were at this time last year. The average cost of a gallon of unleaded gas in Minnesota as of Monday was $3.50, with the cheapest gas in the state being $3.29 a gallon in Maple Grove and the most expensive gas ringing up at $3.99 a gallon in Brooklyn Center. In New Ulm the average price for a gallon of unleaded on Monday was $3.57. It was selling for $3.47 a gallon in Sleepy Eye, and as high as $3.59 a gallon in St. James, with most local communities averaging around $3.55.
