A Sleepy Eye man and his 8-year-old son were injured in a crash on Highway 12 Tuesday evening that took the life of a 19-year-old woman. It happened at around 8:15pm about 3 miles east of DeGraff in Swift County. A 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kayla Wrobleski of DeGraff was heading eastbound on Highway 12 and she was attempting to make a left turn when her vehicle was rear-ended by a 1997 Audi driven by 37-year-old Thomas Kolbe of Sleepy Eye. The collision reportedly caused the Pontiac to rotate around on the roadway and it was broadsided by a westbound freight truck driven by a 65-year-old Wadena man. Wrobleski suffered a fatal injury in the crash. Kolbe and his 8-year-old son Jaxon were both taken to the Swift County Hospital in Benson to be treated for minor injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt. All of the vehicles involved were totaled.
