New Ulm declares emergency 02 Jul 14

The New Ulm City Council declared a State of Emergency due to the flooding during their meeting Tuesday evening.  Two major projects were identified by city staff – repairing the failed storm sewer infrastructure on County Highway 13 and reconstruction of the failed storm sewer on Milford Street.  Preliminary repair estimate comes in at $195,000.  FEMA and the city Emergency management will conduct further damage assessments.  Other projects could be added to the list but officials say County Highway 13 and Milford street were the most pressing at this time.  The council approve M.R Paving to complete the repairs on Highway 13.  M.R Paving’s bid came in at just over $75
