A Red Cross volunteer from New Ulm is headed to Washington State to help with the wildfire relief efforts taking place there. Wildfires continue to burn east of the Cascade Mountains, and Red Cross workers have several shelters open as well as supporting community-run shelters. They are also providing food, health and mental health services. Richard Poulson of New Ulm is being deployed as a client casework supervisor. He will be supervising other volunteers along with meeting with local residents to help them find the best ways to meet their needs. Donations to help those affected by the wildfires and similar disasters may be made sent to your local American Red Cross chapter.
