Fatal Hwy 14 Crash Court Appearance 17 Jul 14

A 19-year-old Sleepy Eye man facing criminal charges for his role in a fatal crash on Highway 14 this past March made an appearance in court on Tuesday. Kansas Adams is facing misdemeanor counts of failure to use due care in a motor vehicle and possessing marijuana in a motor vehicle in connection with the crash that killed his brother Payton and three of their friends. Authorities say that Adams lost control of the Pontiac Grand Prix he was driving on an icy curve along Highway 14 just west of Sleepy Eye and was broadsided by a pickup truck. Adams and the driver of the truck and his 2 children were all injured in the crash as well. Brown County prosecutors say that no other charges will be filed against Adams. He’s due back in court on August 26th.
