A standoff near Janesville ended peacefully early Thursday morning. The incident between an unidentified person and the Waseca County Sheriff’s Department ended around 12:15 am when the suspect was taken into custody. The sheriff’s Department says they were notified a little after 7 Wednesday night by the state patrol that a person on East Elysian Lake road had made threats towards officers who were investigating a crash that occurred earlier in the evening. Waseca, Blue Earth and Le Sueur County deputies, the Minnesota State Patrol, South Central and Minnesota River Valley SWAT teams, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Janesville and Waseca Police Departments, Janesville Fire Department and North Ambulance all responded. The name of the suspect and possible charges have not been released. The suspect is being held in the
Waseca County jail.
