A Fairmont man was injured in a car crash on Highway 15 Wednesday morning. It happened at about 8:45am just south of Northrop. 51-year-old Daniel Sweet of Fairmont had apparently gone to make a u-turn on the highway in his Olds Delta 88 when he was rear-ended by a Nissan Maxima driven by 34-year-old Nicholas Jackson of Fairmont. Sweet was not injured in the crash, but Jackson suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Fairmont Hospital for treatment.
Two people were injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on Highway 169 in Nicollet County Wednesday evening. It happened at just after 5pm about 4 miles north of St. Peter. A 2012 Honda Road Sport motorcycle driven by 25-year-old Alexander McGinnis of Bloomington was heading southbound on 169 when a Pontiac Grand Am made contact with the bike and McGinnis lost control and crashed. McGinnis was taken to the Mankato Mayo Hospital with non life-threatening injuries following the crash, and his passenger, 26-year-old Claire Oman of Bloomington was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. The Grand Am reportedly left the scene after the crash, and its driver, 39-year-old Shannon Willey of Belle Plaine was not hurt.
