Twins Snap Skid 30 Jun 14

Kendrys Morales delivered the eventual game-winning double and helped the Twins knock off the Rangers 3-2 at Globe Life Park.  Jorge Polanco and Joe Mauer plated a run each for the Twins, who snapped a five-game skid.  Kyle Gibson tossed eight innings of two-run ball for his seventh win and Glen Perkins struck out the side in the ninth for his 20th save. 

 The Twins open up a seven-game homestand tonight with the first of three games against the Kansas City Royals at Target Field.  The Yankees will come to town for four games starting Thursday.  Rookie Yohan Pino makes his third start tonight for the Twins.  He’s 0-and-1 with a 6.30 ERA in his first two career starts.  KC will counter with Danny Duffy, who is 4-and-7 with a 2.69 ERA.
