Twins Lose in 9th, Sign Number 1 Pick 10 Jun 14

 Kevin Pillar’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Blue Jays a 5-4 walk-off win against the Twins in the opener of a three-game series at the Rogers Centre.  Toronto was able to overcome Minnesota tying the game in the top of the inning when Casey Janssen blew the save allowing one-run doubles to Kurt Suzuki and Eduardo Escobar.  Minnesota reliever Matt Guerrier [[  guh-REER ]] took his first loss of the season.  Danny Santana went 2-for-5 with a home run for the Twins, who have lost four of five.   The Twins continue their three-game series with the Blue Jays tonight in Toronto.  Kevin Correia gets the ball for Minnesota.  He’s 2-and-7 with a 6.11 ERA in 12 starts.  The Jays will send out left-hander J.A.   The Twins have signed their top pick from last week’s MLB First-Year Player Draft.  The Twins inked shortstop Nick Gordon for over 3.8-million-dollars yesterday.  The 18-year-old was selected fifth overall out of Olympia High School in Orlando.  Gordon will report to the Twins’ Rookie-level affiliate in Elizabethton, Tennessee, which opens its season June 19th.
