A St. Peter man was injured on Highway 169 Tuesday morning after his vehicle drifted into the other lane of traffic. It happened at just after 6:30am in Nicollet County. 39-year-old David Thompson was driving a 2007 Ford southbound on 169 when he apparently drifted into the next lane and hit a 2000 Audi driven by 23-year-old David Hanson of Le Sueur. Thompson was taken to River’s Edge Hospital in St. Peter with non life-threatening injuries and Hanson was not hurt. Both vehicles took moderate damage.
One person was injured in a crash on Highway 71 near Sanborn Tuesday morning. 77-year-old Ronald Bulick of Worthington was driving a 2002 Dodge Intrepid southbound on 71 when he crossed the centerline at around 10:45am and struck a trailer being pulled by a northbound 2005 Chevy. Bulick was taken to the Windom Hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening. His vehicle was totaled. The driver of the Chevy, 26-year-old Matthew Dinesen of Alpha and his two passengers escaped injury. The Sanborn Fire Department and Lamberton Ambulance assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
Five residents of Lamberton were injured in a car accident on Highway 19 near Minneota Tuesday afternoon, including 3 young children. 52-year-old Nhia Xiong was driving a Toyota Sedan eastbound on 19 when a tire blew at just after 3:30pm and he lost control and drove into the ditch. Xiong and his 39-year-old wife and 11, 7, and 3-year-old children were all taken to Avera Hospital in Marshall with non life-threatening injuries. They were all wearing seatbelts. The vehicle took severe damage.
