Sugar Cookie Drops

1 cup butter

1 cup vegetable oil

1-1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

4-1/2 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp cream of tartar

1/2 cup white sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, oil, powdered sugar and 1 cup white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla. Combine flour, soda and cream of tartar. Stir into creamed mixture. Roll into 1 inch balls; then roll in sugar. Place on ungreased sheet and flatten with palm. Bake 8-10 minutes until edges begin to brown; cool on rack.
