Statewide Crackdown On Speeding 17 Jun 14

Law enforcement officials are increasing patrols throughout the state to watch for speeders and aggressive drivers this week. Speed was a factor in over 200 fatal crashes in the last three years, resulting in 235 deaths and more than 650 serious injuries.  And during the summer there are typically more than 900 crashes, often speed-related, involving teenagers each month. Minnesota law requires motorists drive at speeds reasonable and prudent for conditions, and that drivers be aware of actual and potential hazards on the highway and act accordingly.
