The St. Peter School Board has approved a purchase agreement on a 60-acre parcel of land for a new high school for the community. The district will pay a total of $570,000 for the land near Gustavus Adolphus College, or $9,500 per-acre. After approving the purchase agreement the school board voted to hire architectural firm ISG to design the new high school, as well as oversee renovations at the district’s other buildings. Several community forums are being planned to gather input from community members prior to a March 20th bond referendum vote next year to pay for the new $55-million school. If approved the new facility would be completed by August of 2017.
