Rosalie T. Schuneman, age 88, of Belle Plaine died on Friday evening, May 30, 2014 at the Kingsway Memory Care Facility in Belle Plaine, MN. Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be at the church social hall on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Belle Plaine, MN. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate the services.
Rosalie was born on July 29, 1925 to Nicholas & Viness (Randall) Jungers in Turner, MT. She moved to Sleepy Eye, MN at a young age and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School. She married William “Bill” Schuneman on June 17, 1946 in Mankato, MN. The couple lived in Sioux Falls before moving to Belle Plaine in 1953. Rosalie worked at Gedney Pickle Co. for a short time before she became a head cook at Belle Plaine Schools from 1968 to 1993.
She is survived by her children; Gary (Sandy) Schuneman of Savage, MN; Tom (Janet) Schuneman of Belle Plaine, MN; Jack (Judy) Schuneman of Henderson, MN; Mike (Darlene) Schuneman of Pheonix, AZ; Jodi Witt (friend, Jim Lorence) of Montgomery, MN & Pat (Ann) Schuneman of Arlington, MN.
Grandchildren; Beth Satterwhite, Matt Schuneman, Heather Schuneman, Kate Vatnaas, Jeana Pankratz, Peter Schuneman, Clarissa Terschan, Ryan Witt, Alisha Schuneman, Laura Schuneman, and Stephanie Schuneman. 10 Great Grandchildren.
Siblings; Edward Jungers of El Centro, CA & Katherine Orth of Hayden Lake, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1999; brothers, Joe and Tom Jungers and her parents.
