The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is sponsoring a two-hour guided hike to the top of one of the oldest rock outcrops in the world on Sunday. The Morton Outcrops Scientific and Natural Area is a unique site that has long been important to the Dakota people. The free tour of the area begins at noon Sunday. The walk is appropriate for all ages, but will be moderate to difficult as it crosses about a mile of uneven and possibly wet terrain. The Morton Outcrops SNA is located in Morton, on the northeast corner of Highways 17 and 19. The hike will begin at the gravel parking area adjacent to the gas station.
