A Mankato man who was connected to a string of vandalism incidents at a Mankato church last year was sentenced to 5 years of probation and ordered to pay restitution in Blue Earth County Court Friday. 25-year-old Charles Dosman – otherwise known as Dosman Kizito Charles - had been charged with 3 counts of felony criminal damage to property for vandalism incidents at the Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato between last August and October. Thousands of dollars worth of stained-glass windows were broken in those incidents, and an elevator was damaged. During Friday’s hearing, the court did verify that Dosman has mental health issues and he was ordered to pay nearly $10,000 in restitution to the church after spending over 160 days in jail. Dosman is also accused of throwing a brick through a window at a liquor store last year, but a restitution amount for that crime has not yet been determined.
