A 32-year-old Nicollet man accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl is asking for a lighter sentence than called for by state sentencing guidelines. Ryan Truebenbach pleaded guilty to 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct after reportedly admitting to having sexual contact with the girl a total of five times over the course of a year and a half. He had initially been charged with 6 counts of criminal sexual conduct. Truebenbach is requesting probation time as well as a year in jail and intensive treatment for his sentence. State guidelines call for him to spend at least 12 years in prison. The prosecution now has until June 27th to file its response to his request.
