A Heron Lake man is in custody following a major manhunt in Cottonwood County. Authorities were searching for the 39-year-old man after he allegedly violated an order for protection in Windom Thursday evening. He had apparently shown up at the home of his ex-wife, who had an order for protection against him, and when law enforcement responded the man reportedly fled on foot into a wooded area near the Windom Middle School. The manhunt was called off after several hours following an intense search in which the man was spotted in a swampy area but eluded officers. He was arrested without incident the next day following a traffic stop north of nearby Bergen.
