The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety says that nearly 11,000 unbelted motorists were ticketed during the 2-week Memorial Day seat belt enforcement campaign. The May 19th through June 1st  statewide Click It or Ticket seat belt and car seat enforcement campaign resulted in a total of 10,874 seat belt citations, and 279 child car seat citations. The results were reported by 329 law enforcement agencies across the state. Minnesota’s seat belt law is a primary offense, meaning drivers and passengers in all seating positions must be buckled up or in the correct child restraint.
