Aspiring singers from around the state will be heading to Minneapolis this week for a chance to audition for American Idol. It will be the first of several cities hosting live auditions for the show’s upcoming 14th season. The Minneapolis auditions will be this Wednesday at Mariucci Arena on the campus of the U of M. The auditions are open to anybody ages 15 to 28, and candidates can start lining up at 6am Wednesday. More information is available on the American Idol website. The last time that the popular program held auditions in Minneapolis was in 2006, and more than 10,000 singers tried out for the show.
