The flu continues to linger around our state. The Minnesota Department of Health reports a total of 12 influenza-related hospitalizations over the past week, compared with 20 hospitalizations the week before. There have been more than 1,500 Minnesotans admitted to the hospital with the flu so far this season. The past week also saw one flu outbreak at a Minnesota school. There were no nursing home outbreaks. The geographic spread of the flu in the state went from “Local” back to “Sporadic” as well. Minnesota’s flu season typically runs through the middle of May.
