Minnesota centerfielder Aaron Hicks singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Twins outlasted the Boston Red Sox 4-3 at Target Field yesterday. Chris Parmelee hit a two-run homer for Minnesota, which blew an early 3-0 lead before pulling out the win. Brian Duensing (DUNN-sing) got credit for the win after Glen Perkins blew the save in the ninth. Andrew Miller took the loss for Boston, which dropped two-of-three in the series. Will Middlebrooks’ two-run single in the ninth knotted the game at three for Boston to set up extra innings. Mike Carp had a run-scoring, infield single for the Red Sox in the fourth. The win secured the second consecutive series win for the Twins, who took two-of-three from Boston and two-of-three from Detroit in the previous series.
