St. Peter Sawed-Off Shotgun Charges 23 May 14

Two St. Peter men are facing felony charges in Nicollet County Court after allegedly trying to trade a sawed-off shotgun for drugs. A DNR conservation officer had stopped a vehicle along Highway 22 north of St. Peter, and during a search of the vehicle officers assisting with the traffic stop reportedly found the illegal weapon. 32-year-old William Lee Hutchins Jr was driving the vehicle, and allegedly admitted that he had a drug addiction and had attempted to trade the sawed-off shotgun for methamphetamine. Hutchins’ half-brother, 30-year-old Kristopher Ronald Larson is also charged with possessing the shotgun. He has previously been convicted of a felony offense as well, and is ineligible to possess a firearm. Larson is scheduled to be in court on June 24th, while Hutchins is set to appear on July 9th.
