Renville Man Possession Sentence 09 May 14

A Renville man was sentenced to a year of probation on Wednesday for his role in ordering nearly 3-pounds of synthetic marijuana over the Internet and receiving the shipment of more than 300 ready-to-sell packets at the Willmar post office. The charges against 24-year-old Derek Bergen Ellingson will be dismissed in a year if he meets the probation requirements and cooperates with the investigation and prosecution of his co-defendant, 45-year-old Andrew Lee Gomez of Willmar. Gomez also faces the same two felony possession charges, as well as counts of burglary, robbery, assault and terroristic threats for allegedly beating a man he suspected was an undercover drug informant.
