A Redwood County man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly attempting to shoplift from the Redwood Falls Wal-Mart and then leading authorities on a high-speed car chase. 53-year-old Lee Allen Haneline was apparently attempting to steal over $800 in merchandise from the Wal-Mart when he was caught by an employee. Haneline reportedly left the merchandise behind when he was caught and fled to his vehicle, and a car chase then ensued which reached speeds of up to 85mph. Haneline was apprehended by a Minnesota State Trooper who struck the vehicle he was driving. He also allegedly had a bottle of prescription pain medication in his vehicle which wasn’t his, and refused to submit to drunk driving tests. He’s being held in the Renville County Jail on charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, theft, trespassing, and DWI.
