Partial MN E-Cigarette Ban Approved 16 May 14

A ban on electronic-cigarettes in health care facilities, licensed day care centers and public buildings is headed to Governor Dayton’s desk after the legislature passed it Thursday night. Mankato area Senator Kathy Sheran says certain facilities licensed by the state are also subject to the e-cigarette ban, but not bars and restaurants. Sheran says she’s very disappointed the legislature didn’t pass her proposal to ban e-cigarettes in all indoor public places, but adds that the issue hasn’t gone away. Buildings at the U-of-M and state colleges and universities are included in the e-cigarette ban.
