NU Human Rights Contest Winner 16 May 14

The New Ulm Human Rights Commission has announced the winners of this year´s poster and essay contests.The theme of this year was “Prejudice and stereotypes affect the way we perceive and interact with each other, even when we don’t realize it. How do stereotypes affect our society and how do they damage human rights?” The first place winner in the poster contest is Kelsi Miller, and 1st place in the essay contest goes to Rachel Sloot, who also took 3rd place in the statewide League of Human Rights Commissions essay contest. Their awards will be handed out at the New Ulm Human Rights Commission meeting this coming Monday at 4pm at New Ulm City Hall, and the winning posters will be displayed at the New Ulm Public Library this summer.
