New Ulm Ranked 8th Safest City 14 May 14

Real estate research site Movoto has released a ranking of the safest places in Minnesota, and the City of New Ulm came in at Number Eight. Movoto reportedly looked at 84 communities across Minnesota with a population of over 10,000 people and then ranked them based on FBI crime statistics from 2012. Coming in at Number One is the City of Lakeville, Number Two is Rosemount, and the third safest place in Minnesota is Eden Prairie. New Ulm ranked as one of the least violent communities in the state, with a total of just 30 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, which, in 2012 only included assaults. Along with New Ulm at Number Eight, the only other community in the KNUJ area in the top ten is North Mankato, which was ranked Number Five.
