Medical Marijuana Deal Reached 16 May 14

Minnesota House and Senate negotiators have reached a deal on a medical marijuana bill. It would create two state-controlled manufacturing sites with four distribution centers each. The measure does not allow the smoking or vaporization of the marijuana plant; patients will only have access to oils and extracts. Lawmakers are expected to vote on the compromise bill at some point today (FRI), and Governor Dayton says he will sign it into law. Some medical conditions supporters had hoped would be included have been left out of the compromise bill. Governor Dayton is calling the compromise “citizen government at its best.”
