Mariners Avoid Sweep, Twins Head West 19 May 14

Felix Hernandez tossed eight innings of two-run ball as the Mariners dropped the Twins 6-2 at Target Field.  Trevor Plouffe [[ ploof ] went 2-for-4 and drove in two for the Twins while Ricky Nolasco fell to 2-and-4 on the mound after allowing three runs in five innings.  Minnesota saw a three-game win streak end and finished 4-and-2 on its six-game homestand. 

 The Twins begin a five-game west coast road trip tomorrow night in San Diego against the Padres.  The teams will play two games before Minnesota heads to San Francisco for a weekend series against the Giants.  Kevin Correia gets the ball tomorrow for the Twins.  He is 1-and-5 with a 6.80 ERA in eight starts.  The Padres will counter with Ian Kennedy, who is 2-and-5 with a 3.60 ERA.
