World Red Cross Day takes place later this week, a time to recognize worldwide efforts to relieve human suffering. World Red Cross Day is celebrated on Thursday, May 8th, the birthday of the founder of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Henry Dunnant. You can do your part to end human suffering with the Red Cross Bloodmobile making several stops around the area this week. Today (MON) the Bloodmobile will be at Tanker Bay in Winthrop from 1 to 7 and the Waseca American Legion from Noon to 6. On Tuesday eligible donors can give blood at Odeon Hall in Bellview from 2 to 7, and on Wednesday at GFW High School in Winthrop from 8 to 1 and Wabasso High School from 9 to 2. The Red Cross Headquarters on Homestead Drive in Mankato is hosting blood drives from 12:30 to 5:30 on Thursday and 9 to 1 on Friday. Other Friday blood drives include at Valley Green Square in Le Sueur from 9 to 3 and Renville County West High School from 9:30 to 2:30.
