MnDOT is urging drivers to watch out for plows as they try to clear the wet, heavy snow that has fallen across the region. Spokesperson Kevin Gutknecht says that many roads in southern Minnesota are snow- and ice-covered, and he recommends drivers slow down and give themselves extra time. Gutknecht says the salt and warm temperatures should prevent the precipitation from freezing to the roadways. He expects it to melt rapidly this weekend. New Ulm received 8.7″ of snow from this storm, with some area getting nearly a foot of new snow. The Winter Storm Warning for our area is in effect until 10am today (FRI).
