Weekly Minnesota Flu Update 11 Apr 14

The end of the flu season is almost here. The Minnesota Department of Health says that there were 20 flu-related hospitalizations in our state over the past week, compared to 26 the week before. Only 2 of those most recent hospitalizations were in south-central Minnesota, and there were none in the southwestern section of the state. Health officials say there were no school or nursing home outbreaks last week as well, and have now categorized flu activity around the state as Sporadic. A total of 1,432 Minnesotans have been hospitalized over the course of this flu season, compared to more than 3,000 at this point last year.
