Aaron Hicks hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning as the Twins slugged their way past the Rays 9-7 in the rubber match of a three-game set at Tropicana Field. Kurt Suzuki and Sam Fuld each had three hits and drove in a combined five runs. Ricky Nolasco picked up the win, despite giving up 10 hits and six runs in six-plus innings. Glenn Perkins earned his fifth save.
Twins Open Home Stand Tonight Against Tigers
The Twins open up a nine-game home stand tonight with the first of three games against the Detroit Tigers at Target Field. The Dodgers and Orioles will also come to town during the home stand. Kevin Correia gets the ball tonight for the Twins. He is 0-and-2 with a 5.47 ERA in four starts. The Tigers will counter with Rick Porcello, who is 2-and-1 with a 3.15 ERA.
